The draft insurance act now under review provides for an industry council to advise the Insurance Commission of the Bahamas on general, whether arising in the Bahamas or in another jurisdiction.
The council will include at least 12 members from insurance, trade and professional associations, as well as other persons appointed by the Commission who are knowledgeable about the industry. The Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent of Insurance will be ex-officio members of the committee.
